Iran nabs suspects as poisoning cases top 5K

TEHRAN: Iran announced on Tuesday that it had made the first arrests in a spate of mysterious poisonings of schoolgirls that have affected more than 5,000 students since late November.

This came a day after Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had called for the perpetrators of the 'unforgivable crime' to be tracked down 'without mercy' as public anger grew.
