In fairness to Pio Valenzuela

ON July 11, the nation will celebrate the sesquicentennial, or the 150th birth anniversary of Dr. Pio Valenzuela, who was born in 1869 in Polo, Bulacan (now a city named after him, Valenzuela). But instead of being the highlight, it will just be the beginning of a year-long celebration which includes a production of a musical tribute on the life and example of Valenzuela that is being recorded in collaboration with Gary Granada and Lapis.ph featuring the most talented singers in Philippine music history.
