THE country's trade deficit widened to $2.79 billion in February from $2.54 billion a year ago as imports continued to outpace exports, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported on Thursday.

February's trade deficit, however, was lower compared to the $3.76 billion recorded in January this year.
