TOWARD the end of last year, Nafis Alam, who is a professor of finance at the University of Reading in England, produced a list of what he believed would be the five biggest risks to the global economy this year and next. The list has recently resurfaced in various media and in thinking persons’ social media posts, which seems to indicate that worries about the near future are growing among the teeming millions.
