THE Quezon City government suspended classes in all levels on Wednesday, January 9, Feast of the Black Nazarene, to avoid inconveniencing motorists and commuters brought about by its annual procession in Manila.

Mayor Herbert Bautista, in a memorandum, cancelled all classes, both in public and private schools, due to "...the reported threats to security and orderliness of the conduct of the activity, including the implications to the vehicular and pedestrian traffic."
