THE universities allegedly infiltrated by the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) may be news to the public but for the Philippine National Police (PNP), it is "common knowledge."

PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde told reporters on Friday that they were monitoring the 18 universities listed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as schools where the CPP has been recruiting members for the alleged "Red October" ouster plot.
