ZAMBOANGA CITY: The qualifying examinations for the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) will be conducted on August 25 (Sunday) at the Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) Headquarters here and in 40 other examination centers nationwide. A military report received last week by WestMinCom chief Lt. Gen Cirilito Sobejana said the entrance test “is the first stage in the selection process for cadetship in the country’s premier leadership training school.” Sobejana disclosed the PMA cadets “enjoy a full government scholarship, not paying a single centavo during their training years in the academy where they will earn a Bachelor of Science degree.” Upon graduating from the PMA, they will be commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant and Ensign in the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Successful applicants will comprise PMA class 2024 who will be officially received in the academy in an oath-taking ceremony and reception rites on June 1 next year.
