NATONIN, Mountain Province: Hundreds of rescuers are racing against time to find survivors under the rubble of a four-storey building of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) that was buried by an avalanche of tons of mud and boulders triggered by the strong winds and heavy rains from Typhoon Rosita (international name: Yutu).
Heightened search, rescue and retrieval operations were on its fourth day on Saturday as the reported death toll rose late Friday night after six cadavers were recovered from different sites in the vicinity of ground zero at Hacrang in Barangay Banawel.
