THE people of Mindanao “love” martial law since they saw improvements in terms of security and peace in the region, a year after it was declared, Armed Forces chief Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr. claimed on Thursday.
“We saw that the implementation of martial law [in Mindanao] went well. Based on the people we talked to, they love martial law,” Galvez said in an interview in Marawi City, which was commemorating the first year of the siege that saw IS-inspired terrorists launch a series of attacks that leveled the thriving Muslim community into rubble in a bid to establish a caliphate.
