THE four-month old baby of my niece got infected with measles, most likely while waiting at the pediatrician’s clinic. Infants supposedly enjoy passive immunity from measles because of the antibodies of their mothers (who were either vaccinated or had measles), and are therefore vaccinated only at the age of nine months.
