JAPAN needs about 60,000 caregivers, among other job categories, in the next five years to address its impending manpower shortage due to its aging population, according to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
"Its aging population continues to grow and they are expecting a huge labor shortage in the coming years," said POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia on Thursday, adding that the problem prompted Japan to open its door to foreign workers.
