President Rodrigo Duterte said at a recent campaign rally of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan in Koronadal City, South Cotabato that he would only support the Senate candidates who put the interest of the country first. “That is why I am wholeheartedly supporting Bong Go,” he said. Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, former special assistant to the President and Senate hopeful, told his supporters that he would remain as their bridge to the President and make sure to continue support the administration’s campaign against corruption, criminality and drugs. Go added he would prioritize the improved delivery of health services, institutionalize the Malasakit Center and push for programs for the poor, the homeless and senior citizens, as well as bill creating the Department of overseas Filipino Workers.
