TROPICAL depression ‘Egay’ is expected to weaken into a low pressure area (LPA) on Monday but monsoon rains will continue to prevail over parts of Luzon and the Visayas, the state-run weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Egay has slightly weakened as it moved toward the Batanes and Babuyan Islands. It was last spotted 165 kilometers east-northeast of Aparri, Cagayan, moving at a northwest direction at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour (kph) and carrying maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and gustiness of 60 kph.
