Inspite of strong wind and rains brought by super Typhoon Ompong, the people of Bulacan were able to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the opening of the Malolos Congress at the historic Church of Barasoain on Saturday morning.
Held after the declaration of independence from Spain that was won through a revolutionary war on June 12, 1898, the congress’ main objective was to draw up a Constitution for the first Philippine Republic.
