VP fails to appear before NBI
(UPDATE) VICE President Sara Duterte on Friday failed to appear before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), which had subpoenaed her to explain her remarks to have President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez assassinated. Duterte sent her lawyer instead to request a new appointment date. NBI Director Jaime Santiago said the vice president's lawyer attributed her absence to a House of Representatives hearing scheduled for the same day. The House, however, canceled the hearing to allow Duterte to comply with the NBI subpoena. "The

"The resolution of political disagreements must adhere to legal and democratic processes," 13 groups said in a joint statement, adding that "resorting to threats, incendiary rhetoric or any form of violence has no place in a nation founded on the rule of law." "To this end, we strongly urge all public officials and political leaders to demonstrate restraint, uphold the dignity of their offices and prioritize

Lastimosa is worth the wait – Victolero
ROOKIE guard Jerom Lastimosa was kept in the freezer during the season-opening PBA Governors' Cup as the prized playmaker out of Adamson was recovering from an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tear. Selected ninth overall by Magnolia in the 2024 PBA Rookie Draft, Lastimosa worked his way back into shape with coaching staff and management wanting to make sure he won't suffer any major setback. When Magnolia coach Chito Victolero finally unleashed the 26-year-old Lastimosa in his first game in the PBA on Thursday night, he liked what he saw. "(He's) Worth the wait. We can
