SIGNAL 1 remains over seven areas in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao as Tropical Depression "Amang" made landfall in Siargao Island, Surigao del Sur on Sunday night, the state-run weather bureau said.

"Amang" was spotted 70 kilometers (km) north of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte or east northeast of Maasin City, Southern Leyte with maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour (kph), and gustiness of up to 60 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Monday.
