THE Asian Development Bank (ADB) committed a record amount of nearly $40 billion — $24.3 billion from its own resources, aside from $14.9 billion in co-financing with partner institutions — to support economic growth in Asia and the Pacific, according to its 2024 annual report released on Thursday.

This is higher than the $23.56 billion in 2023 to address complex challenges such as climate change resilience, infrastructure gaps and inclusive economic growth.
