MANILA, Philippines — Creamline exited the 2025 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Champions League after absorbing a 25-15, 25-22, 25-16 setback against Nakhon Ratchasima of Thailand in the quarterfinal round on Thursday night, April 24, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
The nine-time Thailand champion played will all its guns ablaze led by Anyse Marlee, who scored 13 points on 11 attacks, an ace, and a block to silence the arena filled with Creamline supporters.
Onuma Sittirak and Sasiparon Janthawisut added 12 points each for Nakhon Ratchasima.
Creamline, a 10-time champion in the Premier Volleyball League, had no double-digit scorer for the game as Russian import Anastassiya Kudryashova netted only nine points to lead the team.
PVL 2024 Reinforced Conference Most Valuable Player Bernadeth Pons scored eight points while Kazakhstan import Anna Kolomoyets added seven points for the Cool Smashers.
"Of course, we are happy that we played here in AVC, despite the result. Hopefully, next international tournament we can prepare well. Still, there are no excuses on why we did not make it to the semifinals. We are happy, and this is a great experience for us," Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses said.
