CATL launches new EV sodium-ion battery

SHANGHAI — Chinese battery giant CATL launched on Monday a new sodium-ion battery it says will restructure the electric car industry and a new system to combine two battery technologies into one car.

The firm produces more than a third of all electric vehicle (EV) batteries sold worldwide, working with major brands including Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volkswagen.
