MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Dr. Honey Lacuna-Pangan ordered all Philippine flags within the city, including the flag of Manila, to be flown at half-mast until April 22 — the day of Aunor's interment at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani.
In a statement, Mayor Lacuna-Pangan said the directive was in accordance with the Local Government Code of 1991, the Charter of the City of Manila, the Honors Code of the Philippines, and the Flag and Heraldic Code, ensuring that proper honors are accorded to the celebrated artist.
