AS global markets reel from steep US-China tariff escalations and the looming global reciprocal tariffs after the 90-day pause, the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) is urging a renewed focus on the UK-Philippine partnership, highlighting the Philippines as a strategic gateway to Southeast Asia.

BCCP Executive Chairman Chris Nelson noted that rising protectionism, particularly the 145 percent US tariffs on Chinese imports and China's retaliation, disrupts investor confidence and trade.
