THE average retail price of rice and other agricultural commodities dropped, while those of pork and cooking oil went up in the first phase of this month (April 1-5), according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.
Data showed a kilogram (kg) of regular milled rice sold for P44.92, lower than the P46.02/kg in last month's second phase (March 15-17). It is also lower than the P46.39/kg in the first phase (March 1-5). Special rice and well-milled rice prices also declined from their March levels.
