A TEAM of scientists from the University of the Philippines in Diliman has developed a cutting-edge, impact-based flood forecasting system capable of predicting floods up to 24 hours in advance.
Dr. Mahar Lagmay, executive director of the UP Resilience Institute (UPRI), said the system can determine whether a neighborhood is likely to be affected by a major flood 24 hours before it happens.
