MILITARY troops deployed in areas of Western and Central Mindanao were directed on Thursday to prepare to respond to any eventualities that may arise during and after the holding of the national and local elections on May 12.
The directive was laid down during a meeting presided by Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) chief Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete and attended by Joint Task Force (JTF) Central. During the meeting, directive advised each unit to prepare for a range of possible scenarios such as threats of violence, attempts of election sabotage, or civil disturbances.
