Philippine Army modernization: Serving people, securing the land

AMID the rapidly changing regional and global landscape, the Philippine Army is strategically shifting its focus from internal security to bolstering its external security operations (ESO) capabilities.

At the heart of this crucial pivot is the Philippine Army modernization program, which is anchored on two cornerstone pieces of legislation: Republic Act 7898 or the AFP Modernization Act of 1995, and Republic Act 10349 or the Revised AFP Modernization Act, which spans three horizons.
