CEBU CITY — The Commission on Elections in Central Visayas (Comelec-7) has taken down 31,810 illegal campaign materials across the region, ahead of the official start of the local campaign period on Friday.

The dismantled materials were mostly from national candidates and party-list groups, but Comelec-7 also removed posters and tarpaulins of local aspirants, particularly those nailed to trees or displayed in prohibited public spaces such as electric poles and government infrastructure.
