A RELATIVELY stable peso could provide the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) with the flexibility to implement its first rate cut of the year next month, a Moody's Analytics economist said.

"We expect the BSP to trim the key policy rate by 25 basis points in the April meeting," Moody's economist Sarah Tan told The Manila Times on Thursday.
