CONSOLACION, Cebu — The local government here has broken ground for a new jail facility in Barangay Panas to give persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) more breathing room and improve their conditions.
Aiming to ease overcrowding and improve conditions for PDLs, Mayor Teresa Alegado led the groundbreaking ceremony on March 25, alongside officials from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
