UP study shrinks breast cancer tumors

BIOCHEMIST Dr. Gisela Concepcion has spent years researching chemical compounds from natural sources to develop medicine to fight diseases, including metastatic breast cancer.

'Cancer is a colonizer. What happens is almost like a geographic colonization to steal resources,' she said in a report written by the University of the Philippines Media and Public Relations Office and published on March 20 on the UP website (https://up.edu.ph/up-marine-scientists-propose-sponge-powered-combo-to-combat-breast-cancer/).
