THE Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on Tuesday said it had approved the remaining 290 megawatts (MW) of a 1,200-MW power supply agreement (PSA) between Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) and San Miguel Corp. (SMC), subject to the same rate and conditions previously set in May 9, 2024.
To recall, the ERC in June 2024 granted provisional approval for Meralco to get 910 MW from SMC-led South Premiere Power Corp.'s (SPPC) 1,200-MW lijan Natural Gas Plant at a base rate of P5.9282 per kilowatt-hour.
