ILOILO CITY — The eight members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Provincial Board) of Antique argued that the suspension penalty imposed by the Office of the Ombudsman cannot be enforced during the election period.
In a letter to Antique Vice Gov. Edgar Denosta on Monday, the SP officials claimed that the suspension, handed down on March 7, 2025, directly violates the election prohibitions under the Omnibus Election Code and Commission on Elections (Comelec) Resolution 11059.
