ON Feb. 6, 2024, I received a call from Eraserheads manager Day Cabuhat, asking me to become one of the resource persons to a new retrospective documentary on the Philippines' greatest rock band, which was released in cinemas last weekend as 'Eraserheads: Combo on the Run.' At first, I hesitated to accept because although I am a casual fan who enjoys most of the hits, I felt some other diehard fans deserve more to be there. During their heyday, especially by the time of the album 'Cutterpillow,' their music was not for me, although I love 'Ang Huling El Bimbo.' I was influenced though by one of my bandmates in high school in 1997 to appreciate their album 'Sticker Happy,' and I even sang 'Kaliwete' with them in one high school fair. So, I was a late bloomer in terms of the Heads.
