'Slightly affected' Marcos orders intensified drive vs fake news

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was 'slightly affected' by the alarming surge in fake news on social media platforms, prompting him to order an intensified campaign to counter misinformation not just for himself but for the country, Malacañang said Tuesday.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Marcos issued the directive following claims of vloggers and social media personalities that the photos posted by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos taken during an Asian Cultural Council meeting on March 21 and posted on her social media accounts were edited.
