THE peso closed basically flat on Monday, but the stock market slumped amid worries about the possible impact of reciprocal tariffs expected to be announced by the United States next week.

The currency edged up a centavo to P57.32 against the dollar, which Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. chief economist Michael Ricafort said was due to the greenback having weakened slightly against major global currencies.
