PLDT Inc. (PLDT) and its wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. (Smart) plan to activate around 200 telecommunications (telco) sites in 2025 with the goal of prioritizing more remote areas.
The company said the initiative formed part of the Private Sector Advisory Council's digital infrastructure commitment to build new cell sites and expand connectivity to geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs), thereby improving digital access for millions of Filipinos.
