A LIFT from the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) policy meeting this week proved short-lived as the peso and the stock market both fell on Friday.

The currency weakened by 10.8 centavos to close out the week at P57.33 against the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index shed 56.38 points, or 0.89 percent, to 6,266.75.
