THE peso and stock market rose on Thursday, boosted by gains on Wall Street that were due to the US Federal Reserve's maintaining its outlook of two interest rate cuts this year.

The currency rose by 7.8 centavos to P57.222 against the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) edged up 10.01 points, or 0.16 percent, to close the day at 6,323.13.
