Navy seeks anti-submarine power

THE Philippine Navy on Tuesday said it would collaborate with the Italian navy to acquire anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capability.

'One of the main thrusts of the Philippine Navy is to further develop our ASW capability but that does not mean that we are foregoing with the enhancement of the other warfare capabilities such as anti-surface warfare, anti-air and electronic warfare,' Navy spokesman Capt. John Percie Alcos said Wednesday in a news conference.
