MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said on Monday, March 17, that the city of nearly two million people has a very low crime rate.

"There were only six murders and two homicides for January and February combined, compared to the 18 in the same months last year. Thievery is even down to 58 reported incidents from 69 last year. Robberies are slightly down to 29 from 31," Lacuna said, citing data from the Manila Police District.
