City officials in Tagbilaran City mark the 460th anniversary of the Blood Compact at the Tagbilaran City Friendship Park on Sunday, March 16, 2025. Mayor Jane Yap led the event, which included a wreath-laying ceremony, with Bohol Governor Erico Aumentado and other officials in attendance.

The Blood Compact, or Sandugo, was a peace pact made in 1565 between Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Bohol chieftain Datu Sikatuna. The ritual symbolized friendship and alliance between the two leaders.
