THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Friday said that 247 investment leads and projects valued at around P4 trillion or $76 billion were in the pipeline as of January, an indication of the Philippines' status as a prime investment destination.

It said that 51 of these projects were in advanced stages with 28 firms having registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission or investment promotion agencies. Twenty-three, meanwhile, were said to have commenced operations.
