Education Secretary Sonny Angara visited Google's Philippine Office in Taguig City on Monday to announce the procurement of one million licenses of Google Workspace for the employees of the Department of Education, including for over 900,000 teachers.
Angara said the procurement of the licenses will allow teachers to code for the first time, enabling them to create software and applications tailor-made for their class work.
Colin Marson, director of Asia Pacific and Europe, Middle East and Africa for Google for Education, believes that their partnership with DepEd will allow Philippine education to prosper despite challenges in connectivity.
