ILOILO CITY — The Department of Health Western Visayas (DOH-6) has reported a 72 percent increase in dengue cases in the region, prompting renewed efforts to combat the mosquito-borne disease.
From Jan. 1 to Feb. 15, the region recorded 1,703 dengue cases, a sharp rise compared to the 988 cases recorded in the same period last year. In Feb. 9-15 alone, 292 new cases were logged.
