FROM Feb. 24 to 28, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is destroying P2.1 billion worth of confiscated cigarettes as part of its intensified efforts against illegal trade and tax evasion.

The five-day operation, led by BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr., is being held across 12 designated sites, with Porac, Pampanga as the primary destruction hub.
