EL NIDO, Palawan — The first-ever centralized Sewage and Solid Waste Treatment Plant (STP) in the Philippines is now operational here, helping maintain environmental sustainability in the popular tourist destination.
The facility, which runs on solar energy and produces biogas that can be converted into electricity, is designed to treat three types of waste, including wastewater, septage, and biodegradable solid waste.
