(UPDATE) PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday lauded the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for rising up to the challenge of helping disadvantaged Filipinos as he led the launching of the agency's new social welfare programs.

Speaking at the DSWD's 74th anniversary celebration at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, Marcos noted the new initiatives are meant "to build a resilient, inclusive society where no one is left behind."
