THE Philippines could become an alternative manufacturing destination for companies that may need to relocate as a result of new US trade policies, the chief of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) said.

"The Philippines can leverage evolving US trade strategies to position itself as a cost-effective offshore manufacturing hub for US and multinational companies relocating production from China and other countries," PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga said in a statement on Sunday.
