MANILA Electric Co.'s (Meralco) consolidated energy sales for the month of January 2025 reached 4,061 gigawatt-hours (GWh), up a marginal 0.4 percent from the 4,045 GWh sold a year earlier.

Meralco blamed a high base effect from last year when weather patterns, particularly a lingering El Niño, played a major factor in energy demand.
