JUST wondering when the misbegotten idea of an expressway over the Pasig River will finally be seen for what it will be — an environmental affront and a disaster for the river, the geographical feature which was the raison d'etre for Manila's founding.

What does it take to put some common sense into the Toll Regulatory Board that keeps this idea alive by entertaining the proponent's insult to the river by way of diminishing and devaluing it by putting a cement structure over it. So, the Pasig that is the very core of Manila's identity and existence will be literally covered up?
