SENATE Majority Leader Francis Tolentino on Thursday urged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to create a West Philippine Sea Command (WPSCOM) to enhance maritime security and national defense.

In his letter to the president, Tolentino cited "the security and economic importance of the West Philippine Sea, and the continuous challenges posed by China vessels."
